Macro Friday - 3

This little red ("thing") insect is the worse enemy for my lilies.
Right now it is actually in the lilies seeds head! probably laying eggs...

And yet it is the most attractive to take photos of, I do not have the heart to get rid of them all!!!

Even its antennae looks a bit nasty... ugh. Its color red is really pretty, though.

Great shot! Isn't it interesting that some of our plants worst enemies are some of the best to photograph....

Must be some kind of beetle. They are a real lily pest!

Cool macro, tho! :o)

Gorgeous picture! I love the warm light and the textures! Quite the conundrum with the destruction held up against the intrigue.

Oh I know those things are a pain, but doesn't he look so lovely in a photograph? Great shot!

Its a fantastic photo but that lily beetle would be getting squashed between my finger tips and that seedhead put in the bin.

Very nice shot. I often find myself in the same quandry. While the insects are so much fun to photograph and some of them are quite beautiful, what are you supposed to do when they're pests? Lately, I've begun to think that perhaps even the pests serve a purpose.
