Heatwave in England

Spending my days coping with the heat in England is a funny affair.

Most days I am in my bikini and if the door bell rings I am scrambling to find my easy slip on dress and shouting "coming" to whoever is standing at the door.

I am enjoying the endless sunny days and my seedlings are growing at a very fast rate.  We water with a watering can in the evening.

My garden feels like a zoo at the moment with the thirsty creatures considering it like a little oasis.

This parakeet today was not shy and allowed me to take as many photos as I wanted without being deterred by the clicking of my camera.  For the first time I saw the green bird eating my apples, it usually only goes for the seeds but I knew that it also like fruits, well I have the proof.

As I have many I don't mind sharing.  It makes for great photos.

Apart for brief times in the garden, I hide inside most days with the blinds shut and the conservatory doors open.  I am trying to create a breeze at times, leaving my front door open.  Not always successfully.

In this intense heat, I am knitting and crocheting, the addiction is bad, I have made blankets and scarfs in high temperatures.  One of those warm blankets is gone to Réunion to my Mother, who ironically is suffering from the cold this Austral winter.

Netflix is a faithful companion.  My way of getting out of my bubble.  A window onto a society that I am largely not part of very often.

So many programs are so well made and good.  I enjoy documentaries and crime series.  It is easy to let my fingers work and watch an old rerun.

This is my way of coping with an extremely hot summer so far.

Thanks for stopping by.  :)
